Current Members

Fei Lu

Group leader.
He is fascinated by genetics, evolution, & computer science. He is trying to pinpoint causative variants of agronomic traits in wheat using interdisciplinary approaches.

Chang-Bin Yin

Research associate.
He has a background of quantitative genetics. He manages the field trials and is particularly interested in hybrid wheat breeding.

Jing Wang

Research associate.
She has a background of molecular biology. She is developing high throughput genotyping, RNA-seq, and regulatory elements screening approaches.

Ao-Yue Bi

Ph.D. student.
She used to work on stress response of turfgrass. Now she is work on genomic response of deleterious variants to demographic change in wheat

Da-Xing Xu

Ph.D. student.
He loves programming so much! By leveraging the large amount of WGS data, he is developing an haplotype based imputation system.

Xue-Bo Zhao

Ph.D. student.
She is interested in evolution biology. She is investigating how hybridization, migration, and breeding shaped the unique evolutionary path of bread wheat.

Zhi-Liang Zhang

Ph.D. student.
He used to work on the highly complex genome of sugarcane. He is now working on structural variation in the "less complex" genome of bread wheat.

Li-Peng Kang

Ph.D. student.
He was majored in forest ecology in college. He is now taking the genomic perspective and studying evolution of the Triticeae tribe.

Ju Xu

Ph.D. student.
She loves coding as well. She is developing RNA-seq analysis pipelines and investigating genetic architecture of gene expression in wheat.

Ming Zhang

Graduated student.
She is interested in the variation of recombination rate between bread wheat and its wild relatives. She graduated in 2022.

Ya-Fei Guo

Ph.D. student.
She is interested in environmental adaptation of wheat.

Xiao-Han Yang

Ph.D. student.
She is working on phenotypic effect of rare deleterious variants.

Ji-Jin Zhang

Ph.D. student.
He majored in agriculture as an undergraduate. He is working on phenotypic effect of structural variation.

Song Xu

Ph.D. student.
He loves statistics and would like to machine learn (ML) whatever can be learned.

Jia-Yu Dong

Ph.D. student.
She is working on her PHD project relating to Triticeae species.

Li-Ping Jiang

Ph.D. student.
She is working on coevolution between rice and rice blast fungus for more effective resistance breeding.
