Group leader. He is fascinated by genetics, evolution, & computer science. He is trying to pinpoint causative variants of agronomic traits in wheat using interdisciplinary approaches.

Chang-Bin Yin

Research associate. He has a background in quantitative genetics. He manages the field trials and is particularly interested in hybrid wheat breeding.

Jing Wang

Research associate. She has a background in molecular biology. She is developing high throughput genotyping, RNA-seq, and regulatory elements screening approaches.

Meng Jin

Engineer. She is mainly responsible for the financial, administrative, and student management work of the research group, as well as some molecular biology experiments.

Postdoc. His current work focuses on deciphering the genetic architecture of wheat quality traits.

Song Xu

Postdoc. He is working on the genetic regulation of gene expression in wheat.

Ph.D. student. Her current research investigates changes in gene expression during wheat polyploidization.

Ph.D. student. She is working on the evolution of wheat metabolites.

Ph.D. student. She is working on coevolution between rice and rice blast fungus for more effective resistance breeding.

Xue-Bo Zhao (2017-2022)

She is interested in evolution biology. She investigated how hybridization, migration, and breeding shaped the unique evolutionary path of bread wheat. She graduated in 2022.

Ming Zhang (2018-2021)

She worked on the variation of recombination rate between bread wheat and its wild relatives. She graduated in 2022.

Xiao-Han Yang (2019-2022)

She used to work on the phenotypic effect of rare deleterious variants.

She used to work on the stress response of turfgrass. Now she is doing postdoctoral research at Zhejiang University.

Da-xing Xu (2017-2023)

He used to work on the effects of introgression from wild relatives on mutation load in the wheat genome.

Zhi-liang Zhang (2019-2024)

He used to work on the highly complex genome of sugarcane. He is now working on structural variation in the "less complex" genome of bread wheat.

Li-peng Kang (2018-2024)

He used to work on the genomic perspective and studying the evolution of the Triticeae tribe.

Ya-fei Guo (2018-2024)

She used to work on the environmental adaptation of wheat.
